Thirst Relief Mentoring Session - Bidding starts Today!

Today is the day! We recently blogged about a great organization we're fortunate to be a part of - Thirst Relief International, whose mission is to save lives and change the world.  And they're doing this by tapping into the incredible talent and generosity of the photo industry.  Thirst Relief and ShootQ have come together to help raise money for this fabulous cause through the Mentor Auction.

Today, bidding for your favorite photography mentors will begin, so make sure to check it out and bid online! 100% of the proceeds directly benefit Thirst Relief, so along with learning from a successful photographer, you'll be helping save lives.

My (Katie's) mentor session can take place at WPPI in Las Vegas, or over the phone at another scheduled time.  Not only will we have our mentoring session together, the winner of my auction will also receive $200 off of Chris and my "Spend a Day with The Humphreys" private workshop.

Kristin and Hadi: Downtown Denver Engagement Shoot!

We have been excited to meet Kristin and Hadi for a few months now - ever since talking to them on the phone, we knew that we would love to be part of their Fall mountain wedding! A huge thank you to Paige from Colorado Wedding Company  for making the introduction! :) Kristin and Hadi currently are living in Texas so our engagement session was the first time we all met and we had a wonderful time!  Kristin and Hadi had told us they love going out at night and that an urban, downtown Denver shoot seemed to be what would suit them best.  We were thrilled also because they wanted to do their engagement session at night so we had some fun experimenting with some evening shots!

We started out a little before sunset in a downtown Denver park - Kristin and Hadi are simply stunning in front of the camera! (Plus, how do you not just LOVE Kristin's dress and shoes?!)

After shooting for a little bit downtown, we all enjoyed a great dinner together then kept shooting that evening - the lights in Larimer Square were a great place to start!

Next, we made a stop at 16th Street Mall for some fun shots before heading uptown a little bit!

Kristin and Hadi,  we had such a fun time with you both and loved hearing more about your wedding plans, life in Texas, and of course discussing our favorite sushi :) We can't wait to see you soon! Thanks for spending the evening with us!

Thirst Relief International: Mentoring for Photographers

For the last two years, Chris and I have been lucky enough to be part of helping an incredible charity called Thirst Relief International.  Thirst Relief is a non-profit whose mission is to overcome death and disease resulting from the consumption of contaminated water by providing safe, clean drinking water to those in need around the world.

At the WPPI convention this year, some of the most well respected and successful people in the industry will be donating their time to help benefit this amazing cause.  Photographers will be bidding on mentor sessions with their favorite photographers and all the money raised will be going to Thirst Relief.  This year, I (Katie) will be flying solo at WPPI but will still be available for a mentoring session and if you're a photographer,  I hope you'll consider bidding on me or another photographer to help raise money for this fabulous cause.  Not only is it a fun chance to sit down one-on-one with me or another photographer, but it's such an easy way for all of us to contribute to a great cause when there are so many in need.
