Funny Cats!

I realized we haven't mentioned our cat Shy for a little while.  She's doin great, she's SLOWLY coming out of her shell.  She had been hiding under my dresser and then the bed for about two weeks, but we finally dragged her out and have forced her to stay in the living room for a little bit which has actually really been helpful for her.  She's pretty comfortable around us, but still super scared from ordinary noises outside (car starting, someone walking up the stairs to our place, etc etc).

Yesterday, Katie found this HILARIOUS video on YouTube on funny cats.  We were both almost in tears we were laughing so hard!  Enjoy!  (Don't worry, it's pretty short)

Of a cat!  :)  (I know I shouldn't joke like that!  I kinda scare myself!  LOL!) 

At our old place, our neighbors had a cat "Grey" that used to come over all the time and visit.  He was a super nice cat and we were so sad when we had to leave him to move to our new place.  It was apparent within the first few days here that we might have to get another cat to replace him, so this weekend we visited the animal shelter and quickly found a cat that we bonded with.  We decided to hold off on getting her and come back again today so that we could be sure she was the one and so we went back this morning and came back with "Shy." 

Shy fits her name perfectly!  :)  She's super timid and nervous, and has been scoping out our new place pretty cautiously.  Her favorite hiding place is under our bed, we finally got her to come out and then stuffed pillows and blankets around the frame to encourage her to be a bit more social.  :) She is just so incredibly sweet though.  She'll sit in our lap while we sit at the computer and be totally content.  It's great!  We're both really excited to see what she's like in a few days/weeks when she's (hopefully) opened up a bit more. 

She's a bit scared of the camera (particularly the noise it makes when the shutter goes off), so I'm trying to ease her into her new role as a kitty model.  :)
